To My Wife

You turned me into everything that I am right now.

Back then, we were barely scraping by, having less than enough to make it work.

Now, we have a family and more than enough to shoulder even more responsibility.

You pushed me to become a better person than I could hope for myself. Never in my wildest dream have I thought that I would be working at home and killing it with my freelance career. You always believed in what I did, and you never discouraged me from taking the road least traveled. At the same time, I hope I made good on my promise that I’d make it and we’d slowly make our dreams come true, one step at a time.

More importantly, I never dreamed of becoming a father to an amazing daughter who looks and acts exactly like her mother. Never did I imagine growing up that would be married to my best friend.

As they say, you don’t know what you have until it’s with you. And I never realized how right everything feels when we were standing at the altar exchanging our vows in front of people we love. The love felt even more real when I held Winter in my hands after you gave birth to her.

I remembered in the middle of the night a couple of years ago; the idea that we’re a family now hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s not long ago when we still went out to parties with friends and having a good time. Nowadays, a bottle of wine and Netflix constitute a good night.

And this is us. There will be more challenges to come, more changes that will take place, and more love to give to this family. Because it is all that matters to me.

I can’t wait for a lifetime together with you.
