The purpose of reviving Magical Tumbong is to use it as a platform to document by progress towards my main goal.
However, I haven’t revealed my actual goals yet.
In fact, I only have a single goal for this year: 4x my income before the end of the year.
To be honest, the money is not primarily the focus here. It is to develop financial comfort for myself and family. Moreover, it is to see how much I can push myself to my limits. I have been hustling as a freelancer for almost five years, and I have reaped the benefits of acquiring customers and retaining them. It is one of the most challenging experiences in my life because I had to scratch and claw my way from nothing into something.
If you want to learn more about my freelancing journey, feel free to read this post on my professional blog. It is a password-protected post, so I suggest you message me on my Contacts page for the pass. I’m not particularly fond of sharing my life (which explains the password) but if it could help you achieve success, then I’ll be more than happy to lend a hand.
The problem now is finding a way around my freelance writing to attain my goal. Writing alone, to be honest, will not help me reach my target, although there are copywriters who are earning north of $100k. However, I am not the kind of wordsmith like they are and it will probably take years for me to build the skills necessarily to earn that amount.
However, this is where my entrepreneurial aspirations come in.
I am banking on my online projects to help me generate a passive revenue stream so I can earn money without lifting a finger. Setting up the system necessary to help me earn my desired income for the sites I’m creating is tricky, but not impossible. I am using Techtage‘s and ShoutMeLoud‘s posts about affiliate marketing and ads for inspiration to help me launch my site.
Also, I launched a boutique writing services with an Indian partner late last year to help small businesses shore up their content needs for their sites, social media, and newsletters. I haven’t entirely dedicated my time to the site yet. However, I feel like I need to kick things into high gear so I can maximize my earnings potential from that channel.
Having explained all this, it seems like my goal is much more attenable. It won’t be easy, mind you, but I will fight tooth and nail to make this happen. I’m tired of not putting my skills and time into something productive and I want to make that change now.
How about you? Do you have your goals for this year? Do you think we share the same goals? Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts about the matter. I’m more than happy to provide help as much as I can about your goals so we can make 2017 the best year yet!
